Book Nook Sales and Donations

Book Nook Sales

Johnson City Library’s Book Nook has a NEW payment policy regarding all books, including books in the Collector’s Corner, and media.  It is all by donation!  YOU determine a fair price for the books and/or media you want to give a forever home.

The Book Nook’s goal is to raise funds for the library by selling gently-used books and media.  In FY 2017-2018, we were able to raise about $1500 under the old pricing structure.  This new pricing structure has been shown to be quite successful with other Friends groups.  We use proceeds from the sales to aid the library in funding purchases and projects not included in the annual budget.

Collector’s Corner

The Johnson City Library keeps the more collectable books that are for sale in the Collector’s Corner.  These books are considered rare or collectible due to their age, availability, author-signed copies, first editions, small press books, books of specialized interest and Texana.

 Book Donations

When you donate your gently used items to the Johnson City Library, they either get a new life at the library, or with a new family, and you get a receipt for your taxes.  Simply bring your books, music CDs, DVDs and audio books to the library located at 501 N. Nugent Ave. and drop them off at the front desk.  (Ask for a receipt if you would like one for tax purposes.)  If you have two or more boxes of books, please call the library at 830.868.4469, to make an appointment to receive your donation of books.
