Johnson City Library

Libraries Lead with Digital Skills

The American Library Association (ALA) announced that the Johnson City Library has been selected to participate in Libraries Lead with Digital Skills, an initiative of ALA and the Public Library Association (PLA), sponsored by Grow With Google, the tech company’s economic opportunity initiative. The library will use the funding to offer four programs with Google's Applied Digital Skills:

Get a Job:  May 27, 12:00 - 1:00

Edit a Resume:  June 6, 10:00 - 11:00

Make Money Online:  June 11, 5:30 - 6:30

Write a Business Plan:  June 16, 12:00 - 1:00

All classes will be taught virtually.  Let us know if you are unable to attend virtually- we can make accommodations in the library for you. For more information, to register for a class, or let us know if there are other types of training you’re interested in, please email: johnsoncitylibrary@verizon.net, or call 830-868-4469.

This program is funded by Libraries Lead with Digital Skills, which was created so local libraries can combine their own program offerings with Grow with Google training materials to offer community workshops or other activities aimed at empowering small businesses to grow online or assisting job seekers to prepare for and find work. Through this initiative, Google aims to help everyone across America access the best training and tools to grow their skills, careers, and businesses. Grow With Google has made a commitment to deliver free, in-person workshops for job seekers, small businesses, and library patrons in all 50 states.  Our library is honored to bring this opportunity to our community.
